​Sven Schild, PhD, SEP, TCC


PROFESSIONAL BACKGROUND


Dr. Schild obtained his doctoral degree in clinical psychology from the California School of Professional Psychology at Alliant International University (AIU) in San Diego, CA.  For his research on trauma and deafness, he received the prestigious F. Joseph McGuigan Dissertation Award at AIU. 

Dr. Schild is licensed as a psychologist to provide psychological services in California (Lic#: PSY 22339), Hawaii (Lic#: PSY 1139), Florida (TPPY111), and Virginia (0810007417). In addition, he is an EMDRIA certified EMDR clinician and approved consultant, a Somatic Experiencing Practitioner (SEP) and credentialed as a National Health Service Provider in Psychology. ​

Dr. Schild has worked in the following inpatient and outpatient mental health agencies:



In 2003, Dr. Schild joined Dr. Constance Dalenberg at the Trauma Research Institute in San Diego.  As part of his doctoral research, he completed a dissertation entitled Trauma Symptoms in Deaf Adults.  Since his graduation in 2007, Dr. Schild has maintained a close relationship with the Trauma Research Institute.  To view a list of his most recent publications, please click HERE.  

Dr. Schild has also been a reviewer for research studies on trauma, PTSD and dissociation for the journal Psychological Trauma: Theory, Research, Practice, and Policy, the Educational Research Journal, as well as for the Springer Publishing Company.
